Naveen Choudhury

Naveen Bahar Choudhury’s plays have been produced and developed by Ensemble Studio Theatre, Second Stage Theatre, The Lark Play Development Center, The LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, New Federal Theatre and more.  She is currently working on a play commissioned by the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Project. She is a recent Dramatists Guild Fellow, as well as a recent LaGuardia Performing Arts Center Playwriting Resident.  Her work has been recognized by The Kilroys (2016 Honorable Mention for My Name is Yusuf).  Her play, Skin is published in Plays For Two, an anthology by Vintage Books/Random House, and was broadcast on Northeast Public Radio as part of the Playing On Air series. In 2016, she was a finalist for the Jerome Many Voices Fellowship; she has also been a finalist for The Public Theater’s Time Warner Emerging Writers Group and a semi-finalist for the Juilliard Playwriting Fellowship. She is a proud member of the Ma-Yi Theater Writers Lab, and the Lather, Rinse, Repeat playwriting collective. Ms. Choudhury received her MFA in playwriting from The New School.
